Maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of hospital facilities to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Responsibilities include cleaning assigned areas, disposing of biomedical waste, and preparing patient rooms for new occupancy.
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Six months of prior housekeeping or maintenance experience is preferred.
Maintains cleanliness of hospital facilities following hospital, departmental, and regulatory agency requirements. Responsible for providing a safe, sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Cleans and restocks all assigned areas according to departmental standard and guidelines. Disposes of trash, biomedical and solid waste materials to appropriate disposal areas. Prepares patient rooms for occupancy after patients are discharged. Replaces supplies as needed. Alerts supervisor of potential problems and safety hazards. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
