The Surgical Technologist manages instruments, supplies, and equipment while maintaining a sterile field during surgical procedures. They anticipate the surgeon's needs and perform duties to ensure quality patient care and department efficiency.

  • Details: The ASC is open Monday through Friday. Flexible start times from 0600-0800. Candidate must have at least 1 year prior experience in the OR, pain and/or GI setting.

  • Summary: The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. He/she will perform other related duties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, as well as quality performance.
  • Experience
  • DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Surgical Technologist is required. Is competent in role as a Surgical Technologist and displays advanced knowledge and ability to independently perform roles and tasks related to the field of surgical technology. Anticipates surgeons' needs and is acknowledged by staff as advanced in field. Ability to first assist is preferred.
  • Education
  • DESCRIPTION: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.
  • Licensure
  • DESCRIPTION: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is highly preferred. Requirements

Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist and completion of a recognized Surgical Technologist program or equivalent. BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire, and professional certification is highly preferred.
