The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic X-ray procedures while ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging standards. They are also responsible for documenting procedures in the EHR/PACS system and participating in required CT cross-training.
Candidates must be a graduate of or currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program and be eligible for ARRT certification. CT certification or prior experience is preferred for this role.
The Radiology Technologist supports department coverage by performing diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established standards and protocols. Position Highlights PRN coverage based on department needs Required participation in on-call rotation (evenings, weekends, and holidays) Small department with opportunity to work independently Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program OR Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program Must be eligible for ARRT certification Preferred CT certification and/or experience Responsibilities Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures according to established protocols Ensure quality imaging and patient safety Prepare and position patients appropriately for exams Follow radiation safety and infection control standards Document procedures accurately in EHR/PACS Participate in CT training; cross-training is required and can be provided Collaborate with providers and staff to support patient care Additional Expectations Maintain competency through continuing education Support department workflow and coverage needs Provide patient-centered care in a team environment At Avera, the way you are treated as an employee translates into the compassionate care you deliver to patients and team members.
