About the role

Provide mental health counseling to clients in person and via telehealth, specializing in children, teens, perinatal health, or couples. Collaborate with a counseling treatment team and participate in regular supervision meetings.

Description The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for a 1099 contracted position.

We are currently looking for a dynamic therapist, with one of the following specialty areas: children & teens, perinatal mental health, or couples counseling.

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will be able to work as part of a counseling team if desired and be supported through regular counseling treatment team meetings or supervision.

This position serves both in person and telehealth clients.

Hours are flexible, though later afternoon, evening and/or weekend availability preferred.

Experience providing services in the specialty area of children & teens, perinatal mental health, or couples counseling.

Must have LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent but open to an LSW or LAPC who is within one year of obtaining full clinical licensure.

Supervision towards licensure can be provided.

Must practice from a trauma informed lens.

Preference for late afternoon, evening and/or Saturday availability.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field, required. Current, active, PA clinical license (LPC or LCSW) or licensure (LSW, LAPC) with ability to obtain clinical licensure within first year of hire required. Minimum of one year experience in providing direct mental health counseling required. Strong knowledge of mental health conditions and evidence based therapeutic interventions for treatment required. Strong knowledge of the impact of trauma and trauma informed interventions required. Strong ability to build rapport with and communicate with all clients, regardless of age, preferred gender, sexual orientation, or other belief systems required.
