The Medical Technologist develops and monitors laboratory test systems while performing diagnostic tests for various patient populations. They are responsible for interpreting results and ensuring all procedures adhere to established standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW) OR Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW) OR Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW) OR Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • 1.Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW One (1) year experience in a clinical laboratory Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
  • Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test PREFERRED Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Work Hours

10pm-6: 30am Weekend Requirements:

Requirements

Candidates must hold at least an associate degree in a relevant laboratory science and possess appropriate professional certification. A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical laboratory is required.
