The Triage Clinician is responsible for managing the flow of crisis services, including triaging calls and prioritizing staff resources. They serve as a primary liaison with external providers and ensure quality care through effective clinical assessment and procedural oversight.
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a related field and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in electronic documentation and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment are required.

Tuesday-Friday 12-8:30pm The Triage Clinician is responsible for the smooth function of the services as the person in charge of triaging calls and prioritizing the use of clinicians, supportive staffing, and other resources. Serves as liaison with related systems and provides supportive and informational communication with persons served.
1. Provides procedural direction and support to crisis clinicians and supportive staff by phone and/or face to face as needed. 2. Responsible for the procedural functioning of the shift. 3. Answers phones, provides initial phone assessment. 4. Maintains awareness of/monitors activity of active and pending cases. 5. Utilizes staffing patterns during shift to maximize response to consumer need. 6. Provides assistance to clinicians with bed searches, insurance verifications/authorizations, resource and system knowledge sharing. 7. Serves as primary liaison between the organization and other providers such as hospital emergency rooms to ensure quality of care. 8. Acts as a conduit for the flow of information regarding programmatic updates and clinical procedural alerts. 9. Accesses administrator on call and psychiatry on call when needed. 10. Collects and records data and statistics for various reporting needs of the program, including required triage documentation on computer. 11. Provides feedback to Program Director regarding issues affecting shift performance. 12. Provides direct care when needed and when possible, which in rare instances could involve leaving the program to provide an AMCI, YMCI, or hospital assessment due to high volume, low staffing and/or for complex cases when warranted.

A working knowledge of computers and ability to complete documentation electronically is required. In addition the ability to complete written documentation timely and effectively. Pay Range: $33.17 - $45.85 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
