The veterinarian will diagnose and treat animal health problems, perform surgeries, and administer vaccinations. They are also responsible for advising pet owners on general care and collaborating with the support staff to provide high-quality medicine.

Sarasota Animal Hospital, a CareVet partner, in Sarasota, Florida is seeking a veterinarian to join our supportive, collaborative team.

This opportunity can be part-time or full-time, with a flexible schedule designed to support excellent work-life balance.

About Us Sarasota Animal Hospital is a well-established, one-doctor practice that has been proudly serving its community since 1979.

We are supported by a collaborative team that includes three relief veterinarians, one licensed veterinary technician, and six technician assistants two of which are currently getting their CVT certification, creating a smooth and efficient clinical environment.

Facilities & Equipment Three exam rooms Digital X-ray Dental X-ray Ultrasound Laser therapy These tools allow us to provide comprehensive in-house diagnostics and support a broad range of medical and surgical cases.

Position Overview We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our team in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

This role offers the opportunity to assist with and develop surgical skills, working alongside existing cases within the practice.

Both part-time and full-time schedules are available, with flexibility to support the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems Treat and dress wounds Perform surgery on animals Test for and vaccinate against diseases Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments Prescribe medication Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care

Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal Strong fondness and understanding of animals Good communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of animal behavior Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree and possess a valid license to practice in the state of employment. Strong communication skills, compassion for animals and owners, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure are required.
