Assesses patients in the emergency room and throughout the hospital to ensure appropriate placement based on their needs. Provides crisis intervention and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to deliver effective care.
Requires a valid license as a Registered Nurse, MFT, or LCSW and at least three years of experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit. Must hold or obtain LPS certification and DMH certification for 5150 detention.
Assesses patients in the emergency room and throughout the house when requested and ensures placement according to their age, identified problems and needs. Acts within the guidelines of LPS Statutes and Patients’ Rights. Provides crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when needed. Works within the multidisciplinary team and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses and staff.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Must have current valid license as a Registered Nurse, MFT, or LCSW issued by the State. 2. LPS certification preferred or needs to obtain this prior to commencement of employment. 3. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. 4. Minimum two (3) years experience in an Inpatient Psychiatric unit 5. Assaultive Behavior Management training within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually. 6. DMH certification required for 5150 detention. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $180.00 per case. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
