The pharmacy technician will compound and dispense medications, maintain drug inventory, and prepare sterile products under the supervision of a pharmacist. They are also responsible for performing unit inspections, managing patient charge documents, and assisting with medication distribution.
Candidates must hold a current pharmacy technician certification and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in mathematics, pharmacy calculations, and the ability to work under minimal supervision are essential.

Under the direct supervision of the Area Director or a Registered Pharmacist and according to the standard procedures compounds and readies for dispensing medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving orders from physicians or other qualified prescribers; maintains the drug inventory; maintains records; processes patient charge documents and labels; mixes IV additive solutions as required using aseptic technique; inspects medication units; and performs various other related duties. Pharmacy technicians do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
