Provide goal-directed peer support and information to caregivers of youth with emotional disturbances to help them navigate treatment and community resources. Facilitate strength-based support groups and maintain detailed medical documentation according to guidelines.
Requires a high school diploma and self-identification as a caregiver to a person in recovery from a behavioral health condition. Must possess a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle, and be able to obtain certification within six months of hire.

Provide goal-directed, medically necessary Parent Peer Support services to caregivers of youth experiencing a Serve Emotional Disturbance with the goal of assisting the youth to remain in the least restrictive environment. Provide self-contained, and goal directed Parent Peer Support Groups to assist caregivers in minimizing or resolving the effects of mental and emotional impairments to the youth. Parent Peer Support will make sure that group facilitation is conducted with a strength based and recovery focus.
Complete progress notes in accordance with COMCARE and CCBHC guidelines which meet requirements for medical necessity, goal-directed treatment, and patient response to treatment within prescribed timelines. Complete Notes for Record and authorizations for release of records as required and/or recommended. Enters no show and cancellations for accuracy and completeness of medical record.
High school diploma or equivalent. Must self-identify as a caregiver to a person in recovery from a behavioral health condition and is able to fulfill the KDADS requirements to become a Certified Parent Peer Support Specialist within 6 months of hire. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Must have personal passenger vehicle for transportation of materials/individuals for essential functions. Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC/CCBHC licensing standards and pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screens.
