The Activities Assistant helps run a creative and interactive program designed to meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of residents. Responsibilities include planning group activities, maintaining attendance records, and assisting with resident assessments and care plans.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with one year of experience in a long-term care facility preferred. The role requires the ability to read technical procedures and effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff.

Schedule: Part-Time (Saturday & Sunday) Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00/hour General Purpose The primary purpose of this role is to support the Activity Director in executing a creative and interactive activities program. You will ensure our programs meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of every resident while adhering to federal, state, and corporate standards. Essential
Program Execution: Lead and participate in individual, small-group, and large-group activities. Planning & Documentation: Assist in developing the monthly activity calendar, maintaining attendance records, and completing assessment documentation/progress notes. Resident Engagement: Encourage participation in hobbies, crafts, and reading; provide specialized materials (e.g., Braille or audiobooks) as needed. Care Coordination: Participate in discharge planning and the development of activity care plans and resident assessments.
Act as a bridge between residents, families, staff, and the public to ensure resident interests are prioritized.
Help arrange transportation for outings, medical appointments, or discharges.
Maintain a clean, organized, and secure Activity Department. Qualifications A positive, "can-do" attitude and a passion for working with seniors. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently during weekend shifts while following the Activity Director's vision.
