The medical physicist will perform acceptance and commissioning of LINAC equipment and oversee the quality and safety of patient treatment delivery. They will also collaborate with clinical staff on treatment planning and participate in departmental quality improvement and research initiatives.

The successful candidate will preferably have over 5 years of work experience and has been on HDR brachytherapy license during their career.

The position is part of a core team of 4 physicists and two physics residents that are responsible for supporting Radiation Oncology in the newly expanded and renovated Cancer Center in Flint and two nearby satellite centers.
Essential Responsibilities Acceptance and commissioning of LINAC Implementation of clinical stereotactic program Radiation therapy equipment calibration, quality assurance Collaboration with clinical and medical staff on simulation and treatment planning.
Provide ongoing oversight of quality and safety of patient treatment delivery Participation in department quality assurance and continuous quality improvement programs.
Participation in clinical research efforts Collaborates in network physics initiatives
Candidates must hold a Master’s or PhD in medical physics and be certified by the ABR, ABMP, or CCPM. A minimum of two years of experience in a full-service radiation therapy center is required, with a preference for five years and HDR brachytherapy experience.
