Overview The Patient Care Aide works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Patient Care Aide include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The Patient Care Aide must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Education: High School/GED preferred License, certification and/or registration: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. Proof of Nursing Assistant (CNA) class completion required from a state approved program. Active certification preferred (including Certified Medical Assistant) but not required. EMT Certification accepted
Candidates must have completed a state-approved Nursing Assistant program and obtain BLS certification during orientation. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and active CNA or EMT certification is highly valued.
