The Medical Assistant will support physicians and APPs by rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and reconciling medication lists. They will also handle incoming communications, process medication refills, and coordinate prior authorizations for tests and equipment.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or Associate’s degree and a current BLS certificate. Medical Assistant certification and prior experience in sleep medicine or pulmonology are preferred.

of the Medical Assistant: High school diploma or Associate’s degree. Medical Assistant certification is preferred with clinical experience. Current BLS certificate is required. Prior experience in a Sleep Medicine/Pulmonology practice is desirable. Ability to understand patient’s medical records and physicians’ orders. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, coworkers, and physicians/APPs. Proficient computer skills, use of electronic medical record (EMR), typing and mousing are required.
of the Job: Hourly pay in the range of $23-27 depending on years of experience and qualifications. of the Medical Assistant: Support physicians and APPs primarily practicing sleep medicine or pulmonology. Handle incoming communications by phone and patient portal and route to physicians or APPs as appropriate. Communicate replies, results, and recommendations to patients from physicians or APP. Room patients, obtain vital signs, and reconcile medication lists. Process requests for medication refills or durable medical equipment (DME) supplies. Coordinate completion of forms for DME, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, etc. Coordinate prior authorizations for medications and tests.
