The Nurse Extern performs multi-skilled activities to support patient care and achieve desired outcomes under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include assisting patients with basic human needs such as nutrition, hygiene, mobility, and documenting simple clinical data.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing and have successfully completed two clinical nursing courses. A BLS certification is required, along with effective oral and written communication skills in English.
The College Nurse Tech, is currently enrolled in a School of Nursing and has successfully completed two Clinical Nursing courses. Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, performs multi-skilled activities to support patient care and achieve desired outcomes. The Nurse Extern can perform nursing practice interventions which have been demonstrated through competency based orientation and is validated by an RN staff member. Performs various nursing duties related to the general welfare and personal hygiene of assigned patients under the supervision of the registered nurse. Assist with activities to assist the patient in meeting basic human needs including but not limited to nutrition, hydration, mobility, comfort, elimination, socialization, rest, and hygiene. Collects, reports, and documents simple data.
Currently enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing Program‚ Demonstrates successful completion of two Clinical Nursing Courses BLS Certification Effective oral and written communication skills in the English Language. Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish)‚
