Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. • What will you do as an Independent Contractor – Therapist?
• As an Independent Contractor – Therapist in the Outpatient Mental Health Department (OPMH), you will provide assessment, counseling, care coordination, and facilitate effective therapeutic interventions built on strong therapeutic relationships with your assigned clients.
• Your responsibilities also include conducting comprehensive clinical assessments, maintaining documentation that meets internal and external standards, and collaborating with other providers and community partners to ensure high-quality, trauma-informed care.
• A typical day as an Independent Contractor – Therapist (as per your schedule) includes scheduled therapy sessions and/or comprehensive clinical assessments.
• You are expected to manage your time independently while meeting documentation and productivity expectations.
• This position allows flexibility in scheduling and includes a mixture of in-office work at the Family Service Center – Wendover and virtual service delivery options.
• While contractors set their own schedules, some availability for late afternoons or evenings is preferred to meet client needs.
• This is a contract/1099 position.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: 10 hours a week minimum commitment Master's degree in a human services-related field Provisionally or fully licensed to practice therapy in North Carolina Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in. All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
