What You'll Do
The Surgical Dental Assistant—Discharge will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our Oral Surgeons throughout various surgical procedures.
The successful candidate will be able to:
Discharge and

Patients:
The discharge assistant will work closely with the surgical team to ensure that patients are prepared for discharge and equipped with the necessary information and resources for post-operative care.
Serve as a liaison between in-patient care and follow-up care.
Conduct thorough assessments of patients prior to discharge to ensure their readiness to leave the facility.
Monitor patients for any signs of complications or adverse reactions to medications and intervene as necessary.
Quick to respond in an emergency – understand all materials in crash cart and efficient in emergency protocol.
Ensure that quality of care is maintained or surpassed.
Patient
Support and
Education:
Provide post-operative care instructions to patients, including oral hygiene practices, medication administration, and dietary restrictions
Answer patients’ questions and concerns, offering reassurance and empathy throughout their treatment process
Educate patients about oral health, prevention methods, and the importance of regular dental visits
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting treatment plans, procedures, and progress

What
You’ll
Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid X-ray license is required
Previous experience as a dental assistant, particularly in Oral Surgery, is highly desirable
Discharge experience is highly preferred
Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and materials
Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety measures
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in dental software and computer literacy
