The COTA will implement treatment plans developed by an occupational therapist to assist residents with daily living skills and therapeutic exercises. They are also responsible for monitoring and documenting resident progress in electronic medical records and coordinating care with the healthcare team.
Candidates must hold an associate's degree in an Occupational Therapy Assistant program and possess current NBCOT certification and state licensure. Prior experience working with older adults in a senior living setting is required.
- Implement treatment plans developed by the occupational therapist to help residents achieve their goals - Work with residents to improve their daily living skills, such as dressing, grooming, and feeding - Assist with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and coordination - Monitor and document resident progress in the electronic medical record system - Communicate with the occupational therapist and other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care - Provide education to residents and their families on how to continue therapy exercises and activities at home QualificationsQualifications: - Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program - Current certification as a COTA by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) - State licensure as a COTA - Prior experience working with older adults, preferably in a senior living setting - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team Simpson is proud to be an EOE employer M/F/D/V.
