• DePaul Community Health Centers operates eleven Federally Qualified Health Centers in the Greater New Orleans area.
• DCHC is committed to improving the health status of our community and to continue a long tradition of service in this market.
• DCHC is seeking an Optometrist to provide clinical care for our brand new Community Health Center in Algiers.
• This brand new, state-of-the-art clinic will be fully equipped and will have two exam lanes, an OCT and a YAG/SLT.
• Clinic days will have a heavy emphasis on ocular disease and the position is eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

Duties

• & responsibilites
• Assumes overall responsibility for patients receiving care in the Clinic.
• Works in tandem with other departments to ensure a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Develops treatment plans in collaboration with patients, as well as educates and advises patients on medical issues. Diagnose and treat refractive disorders.
• Diagnoses and treats ocular disorders caused by age-related illnesses.
• Examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages diseases, injuries and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures.
• Identifies related systemic conditions affecting the eye.
• Enters patient information and completes required clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
