About the role

Supports patient care by coordinating unit clerical activities and managing intra-departmental communication. Responsible for accurate record keeping and order transcription within the ICU Step Down unit.

Position Summary

Supports the provision of patient care through the coordination of unit clerical activities, intra and inter departmental communication, record keeping and order transcription.

Experience

Required

Previous experience as unit coordinator, completion of unit coordinator course or previous clerical/secretarial experience

Education

Required: High School Degree or equivalency ;

Preferred: Unit coordinator course and/or secretarial and computer training, Knowledge of Medical Terminology

License and Credentials

Required: None

Preferred: Medical Terminology Certificate

Skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organization and time management skills, computer skills, basic knowledge of medical terminology; ability to use standard office equipment including fax machine, multi-line phones, and copiers; ability to handle multiple tasks and to work independently

Populations Served

Infant (0-1); Toddler (1-3); Preschool (3-6); School Age (6-12); Adolescent (12-18); Adult: Early Adult (19-45); Middle Adult (46-59); Late Adult (60-79); Late, Late Adult (Over 80)

Hours: 72 hours per pay

Work Schedule

7:00 pm - 7:00 am Shift

The minimum starting rate for this position is $17.14
