Brittany.Ranos@hshs.org HSHS Medical Group is recruiting a BC/BE Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our General Surgery team in Springfield, IL based at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. This APP will work alongside a team of four surgeons and will go with them to the OR as their primary first assist. This APP will also assist with outpatient, clinic-based appointments and inpatient rounds when they are not in the OR. Any APRNs applying for the position must also have an RNFA certification.
- Monday - Friday weekly schedule with an option of a 4 day work week - Weekly schedule will be a mix of OR time, clinic time, and inpatient coverage - The clinic is on the hospital campus and is attached to the main hospital to easily access the OR and the inpatient floors from the outpatient clinic and provider office. - After hours clinic call required, which consists of phone call only with no obligation to come onsite after hours if a call is received. - EPIC EMR in both the inpatient and outpatient setting Position Requirements: - Unrestricted Illinois license prior to start - Board Certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant *Please note, any APRN considered for the position must have a First Assist Certification. - Experience in general surgery or another surgical field is preferred, but experience in other specialties will be considered. Compensation & Benefits Package: Base Salary: $142,991 with bonus earning potential Sign-On Bonus CME Benefits Provided Annually Fully comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision coverage as well as retirement benefits. Core Function: Provider Education Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing PLUS 5 years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Doctoral degree in Nursing is preferred. Experience Qualifications Experience in management of patients across the care continuum preferred. Certifications, Licenses and Registrations Licensed in the state of practice as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is required. Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (WDSPS) or Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Board certification from the National Certification Corporation is preferred. Controlled Substance license in state of practice is preferred. Federal DEA license is preferred. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is preferred.
