Geisinger is proud to offer an Emergency Room Technician I a $1500 sign on bonus for eligible candidates, $15.91 minimum hiring rate with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts! Also offering up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse!

The ideal candidate for this position is a highly motivated individual who is committed to delivering the highest quality care to our patients. They will demonstrate a strong ability to meet both the orientation and long-term full-time scheduling requirements of the role.

Reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance are essential — this candidate consistently shows up on time and ready to contribute meaningfully each day. They are responsive and dependable, with excellent teamwork and communication skills that foster collaboration and support across the care team. A proactive and engaged presence is key to thriving in this role and ensuring exceptional patient outcomes.

  • Performs basic patient care under supervision of the Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures and practices. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area. Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.
  • Triages patient care by identifying, observing and documenting the physical needs of the patient and families.
  • Reports changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse.
  • Assists patient care staff by performing the following procedures: wound care, splinting, and EKG’s.
  • Provides patient care that may relate to rehabilitation to carry out multidisciplinary care plan for each patient.
  • Provides unit desk clerk functions when needed.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and obtain Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire. The role requires a highly motivated individual with strong communication skills and the ability to work evening and night shifts.
