About the role

The PMHNP will conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations and provide ongoing psychiatric treatment, including medication management and monitoring. They will also collaborate with inter-agency teams and maintain accurate clinical records within the electronic health system.

We are seeking a part-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to support our Outpatient Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol program in Coal Township, PA.

Pay rate: $70-90/hour depending on experience

Shift

Flexible two days (10-16 hours) per week Monday-Friday.

Location: 148 State Rte 2026, Coal Township, PA 17866

Position Details

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will assess, plan, develop, coordinate and provide psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation for individuals with mental illness and developmental disabilities. The PMHNP works in conjunction with all team members and Merakey internal supports and Inter-agency teams.

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will

Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations (CBE’s) of Merakey clients referred for psychiatric treatment.

Provide medication appointments, prescriptions and monitoring.

Maintain complete, timely and appropriate documentation in clinical records and electronic health record for clients served.

Complete all applications and credentialing information for Merakey third party insurance contracts as needed.

Provide consultation to Merakey staff with regard to client care and treatment.

Submit service referrals and applications to appropriate departments and agencies (such as case management or other additional services needed to support client within or outside of Merakey.)

Participate in regular clinical supervision and continuing education activities to further develop professional skills in psychiatry.

Qualifications

  • PMHNP or Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania license
  • The ideal candidate will possess;
  • Experience with Integrated Health preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines, including clinical and clerical staff
  • Expert assessment, diagnostic, and psycho-pharmacological treatment skills

Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid Pennsylvania license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority. Expert assessment, diagnostic, and psycho-pharmacological treatment skills are required for this role.
