Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Clinical Dietitian, you will provide expert nutrition care, developing and implementing individualized plans to improve patient health outcomes.

Every day you will clearly communicate nutritional data across all systems and participate in health team meetings as the resident nutrition expert.

To be successful in this role, you will integrate robust clinical expertise with empathetic, evidence-based care, consistently adhering to professional standards and fostering effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.

Patient Assessment & Diagnosis: Conducts comprehensive nutrition screenings and assessments using validated tools, age/gender-appropriate standards, and considering cultural/ethnic backgrounds, leading to nutrition-related diagnoses and identification of patients at nutritional risk Intervention & Education: Implements targeted nutrition interventions based on medical conditions, provides customized nutrition education to patients and families, and actively contributes to interdisciplinary care teams Care Plan Development & Monitoring: Develops individualized intervention plans, including appropriate feeding routes and prescriptions, and rigorously monitors and evaluates patient responses to interventions, updating care plans and following up as needed Clinical Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Collaborates with Food and Nutrition Services on patient experience initiatives (e.g., test trays, menu reviews), participates in peer reviews and chart audits, and assists in training clinical staff on the Diet Manual Handbook Advanced Clinical Competency: Routinely manages high-acuity patients, demonstrating expert-level nutrition therapy in specialized areas such as NICU, pediatrics, enteral/parenteral nutrition support, oncology, renal, diabetes, and gerontology Training & Development: Supports the training and development of Clinical Dietitian I, patient-interactive positions, and other staff as needed, including leading Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) training sessions and workshops for hospital clinical staff Job Requirements Required Two (2) years acute hospital or similar experience working with patients in more complex levels of care to specialized populations (e.g. pediatric, bariatric, ICU, older adults, etc.) Bachelor's Degree with completion of accredited dietetics program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics.) Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Valid dietitian licensure as required by state the state of North Dakota Preferred Potential Board Certifications including Board Certification Specialist in Oncology, Pediatric and Pediatric Critical Care, Renal, and Gerontological.

Also Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (NBNSC) - ASPEN, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (NCBDE).

Outpatient/Wellness Center/Rehabilitation - Board Certified Specialist in sports dietetics, obesity and weight management

Requirements

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited dietetics program and hold a valid Registered Dietitian (RD) registration. A minimum of two years of acute hospital experience with complex patient populations is required.
