The Patient Care Technician provides high-quality, patient-centered care by assisting with activities of daily living and maintaining a safe environment. They also collect and record patient data, such as vital signs and glucose levels, while reporting findings to the nursing staff.
Candidates should have 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or be currently enrolled in a nursing program. A Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire, and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) certification is preferred.
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated tasks in alignment with the PCT's training and the department's needs. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) (LVN at Texas facilities), the PCT supports patient care by assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe and organized care environment, and ensuring effective communication within the healthcare team.
