ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assists with antigen negative RBCs inventory. Assists with reagent management. Receives and stocks supplies. Assists with department phone calls. Assists with equipment maintenance. Assists with in-house red blood cells and antisera. Assists with management of adsorbing RBCs. Assists in tagging units. Assists in importing units. Assists in fulfilling ARDP requests and ARDP duties. Assists in accessioning of incoming samples. Assists with HLA platelet requests. Assists with send-out requests Assists in filing of completed case reports and other department paperwork. Performs other duties as assigned in the Reference Laboratory.QualificationsGENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Ability to interact and communicate with all staff in a professional manner. Good communication skills. Working knowledge of computers; comfortable learning new programs. Excellent attention to detail. Good judgment skills. Ability to grasp new concepts quickly. Ability to work independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor and patient information and test results. Ability to understand and adhere to internal standard operating procedures. Ability to maintain accurate, legible, and complete records. Ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently. EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree in science (BS) or equivalent work experience required.
