As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at WellStar, you'll provide critical respiratory care and education under the guidance of the RC Manager/Director.
Your responsibilities include: Delivering comprehensive patient care in complex situations, primarily in critical care settings.
Educating patients and their families while mentoring new staff and students.
Collaborating with healthcare teams to plan and implement effective care strategies.
Core Responsibilities: Customer Service: Ensure thorough patient assessments, documentation, and education while promoting a positive team environment.
Quality Patient Care: Administer therapies, manage ventilators, perform assessments, and provide specialized care, including assisting in invasive procedures.
Maintain high patient safety standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved program in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Sciences; required. Bachelor’s degree required. Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required Additional certifications (e.g., NRP, PALS) preferred.
Minimum of 3+ years of current RT experience required in a hospital environment required. Skills Strong communication and critical thinking abilities. Excellent relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals. Proficient in computer use and familiar with healthcare databases.
