The Labor & Delivery RN is responsible for conducting assessments, developing patient care plans, and delivering patient care. They also provide education to patients and families and manage discharge planning.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and be a graduate from an accredited nursing program. Additionally, two years of experience in Labor, Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum care is required.
Description The Labor & Delivery RN, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, Nursing Managers and Chief Nursing Officer, is responsible for conducting the initial and on-going assessments, developing the patient plan of care through the use of Care plans ( assessment, diagnosis ,planning, implementation, evaluation);directing and delivering patient care, patient and family education, identifying and correcting variances from the patient's plan of care, and completing discharge planning. She/he is directly accountable to the charge Nurse.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate from an accredited nursing training program as Registered Nurse Experience: 2 years Labor, Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum experience required. Specific Skills: Good verbal and written skills, ability to communicate effectively. Basic nursing skills, willing to float to Med Surg (during low census) (6 months acute care experience preferred). Computer Skills: Moderate computer skills Licenses: Arizona State Nursing License or compact state licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, & NRP required, PALS preferred
