The staff nurse is responsible for conducting assessments, developing patient care plans, and delivering patient care. They also provide education to patients and families, correct variances from care plans, and complete discharge planning.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with graduation from an accredited nursing training program. Acute care experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Description The staff nurse, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, Nursing Managers and Chief Nursing Officer, is responsible for conducting the initial and on-going assessments, developing the patient plan of care through the use of Care plans (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation); directing and delivering patient care, patient and family education, identifying and correcting variances from the patient’s plan of care, and completing discharge planning. She/he is directly accountable to the Charge Nurse. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate from an accredited nursing training program as a Registered (RN) Experience: 2 Years of Emergency Room experience required Specific Skills: Good verbal and written skills, ability to communicate effectively. Basic nursing skills Computer Skills: Moderate computer skills Licenses: Arizona State Nursing License (RN) or compact state licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required. NRP, ATCN, TNCC preferred
