Responsible for performing imaging procedures using X-ray equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. Ensures high quality imaging, adheres to safety standards, and delivers compassionate care to a diverse patient population.

1. Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols 2. Position patients and operate X-ray equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images 3. Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety standards for patients, staff, and self 4. Review and evaluate developed images for technical quality and proper identification 5. Prepare and maintain accurate patient records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards 6. Work closely with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure imaging accuracy and timely results 7. Transport or assist in transporting patients when necessary; may include trauma and emergency cases 8. Perform quality control checks and calibrations on equipment regularly 9. Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, report malfunctions to the appropriate personnel 10. Following infection control, HIPAA, and hospital safety protocols 11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related field. Active license as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Louisiana is required. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
One (1) year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
A Has exposure to blood borne pathogens.
