The Histology Technician prepares and processes tissue samples using routine histologic techniques including fixation, embedding, and microtomy. They perform staining procedures to ensure samples are ready for evaluation and diagnosis by a pathologist.

Job Requirements In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: Required Education and Experience: Opt 1: Successful completion of an accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnologist program Opt 2: HS and 60 college/university semester hrs, with a combination of 12 hrs biology and chemistry (must include both) AND one year full time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory within the last 5 years including fixation, embedding, microtomy, processing and staining.

Opt 3: Associates degree with a combination of 12 hrs biology and chemistry (must include both) AND one year full time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory within the last 5 years including fixation, embedding, microtomy, processing and staining.

Opt 4: Will consider candidates with High School diploma and two or more years of experience in all areas of routine histology in lieu of academic credit/degree and/or certification Preferred Education and Certifications: Associate degree and successful completion of an accredited Histotechnician program AND/OR Histotechnician certification, HT, by American Society of Clinical Pathology Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training: Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize duties.
