About the role

The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for assessing clients in an inpatient drug and alcohol treatment program and administering medication according to facility policies. They also perform direct and indirect patient care duties, including monitoring vital signs and collaborating with the clinical team to ensure quality care.

We're looking for a confident, adaptable, and solutions-focused Licensed Vocational Nurse who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing patient care, clinical responsibilities, and real-time problem solving.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday, thinks quickly, communicates effectively, and takes pride in helping patients navigate challenging moments on their path to recovery.

What You'll Do Perform nursing assessments and monitor patient health status Administer medications and maintain accurate medication records Complete and document vital signs, withdrawal assessments, safety assessments, and nursing evaluations Monitor patient progress and communicate concerns to physicians and treatment teams Respond to changing patient needs and clinical situations Collaborate with nurses, physicians, counselors, and behavioral health staff to provide quality patient care Conduct patient rounds and support facility safety procedures Provide patient and family education related to treatment and recovery Ensure compliance with facility policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements Assist with admissions, orientations, and other clinical support functions What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current and unrestricted Texas LVN license and have at least one year of experience in chemical dependency or behavioral health. Additionally, they must possess current Basic Life Support and Handle with Care Physical Holding certifications.
