The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing various patient care activities under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse. Duties include performing both front and back-office functions within a pediatric primary care setting.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting and BLS certification are required.
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards. Duty assignments vary and include but are not limited to front office and back-office functions.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:High School diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program is required. In lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is required. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:One (1) year of experience in a medical office setting is required with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. In lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is required. MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:None ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:BLS required.
