The Surgical Technologist is responsible for preparing the operating room, selecting necessary equipment, and maintaining a sterile field throughout surgical procedures. They collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow while adhering to established clinical standards.
Candidates must be graduates of an approved Surgical Technology program or have equivalent hospital/Armed Forces training. A current Surgical Technologist registration in Washington and Basic Life Support certification are required.
Scrub in for designated surgeries and carry out general O.R. duties, adhering to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington preoperative nursing care standards, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington policies and contract agreements. Collect data and prepare for surgery in accordance with surgeons direction or preference. Select and prepare supplies and equipment. Establish and maintain a sterile field.
Professional affiliation and certification is preferred by date of hire/transfer. Minimum two (2) years of current continuous O.R. experience in surgical specialty.
