About the role

The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic pain through a multidisciplinary approach. Responsibilities include performing interventional treatments, administering medications, and documenting patient progress in electronic records.

Redefine Healthcare is looking for a dedicated, full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Interventional Pain Management practice in our Sewell office. APPs in the practice collaborate with a supervising physician and have a team approach to managing patients in pain. Our providers are supported by a strong team that assists with imaging, medication, and procedure authorizations, as well as a dedicated medical call center that helps reduce the burden of daily patient calls.

Whether you're an experienced APP or a new graduate looking to begin your career, we encourage you to apply. Previous pain management experience is not required—we are willing to train the right candidate in this specialty.

The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients with acute and chronic pain in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role requires strong clinical skills, a compassionate approach, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Salary: $110,000-120,000 depending on specialty and experience

Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Title Duties (not limited to)

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including a detailed history of pain, physical examinations, and analysis of diagnostic tests to identify pain sources and determine appropriate management plans.
  • Perform procedures such as trigger point injections, joint injections, and other interventional treatments (if trained).
  • Collaborate with physicians and pain specialists to develop, implement, and adjust individualized pain management plans that may include medications, interventions (e.g., injections, nerve blocks), physical therapy, and alternative treatments.
  • Administer prescribed pain medications, ensuring proper dosages, routes, and adherence to guidelines regarding controlled substances and opioid management protocols.
  • Educate patients about pain management techniques, safe medication usage, potential side effects, and lifestyle modifications that can help manage pain.
  • Continuously monitor patients for any adverse reactions to medications or treatments, assess pain levels, and document progress in the patient's medical record. Adjust care plans as necessary based on the patient's response.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, medications, and patient responses in the electronic medical record, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Adhere to all healthcare and legal regulations, including protocols for pain management, opioid safety, and infection control. Ensure that proper protocols are followed for patient safety and medication handling.

Minimum Level of Education or Experience Required

  • Active New Jersey Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • New graduates and entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in pain management or orthopedics is preferred but not required. Comprehensive specialty training will be provided to the right candidate.
  • DEA registration or eligibility for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an active New Jersey Nurse Practitioner license and board certification (AGNP, FNP, or PMHNP preferred). DEA registration and experience in pain management or orthopedics are highly desired.
