Monday- Friday, flexible hours. Evenings are required.
SUMMARY
Family Service League is seeking a full-time Skill Builder for our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) program.
CFTSS is a team-based model which provides Mental Health Treatment to ages 5-20, with the goal of including family members in services whenever possible.
CFTSS provides individualized and flexible services which are intended to be provided in youth’s homes and other community settings.
The Skill Builder will provide Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) in order to support youths’ mental health needs.
The activities are “hands on” and based on the youth’s identified treatment goals.

Responsibilities
The Skill Builder will conduct weekly meetings with youth in their home and community.
Develop Treatment Plan Goals.
Help the youth develop skills toward goals identified, focused primarily on activities, which will help the child achieve age-appropriate tasks and function appropriately within the home and community.

Engage in a variety of activities with the youth, including discussions, role play, games and art activities in order to accomplish these tasks.
The Skill Builder will provide documentation in an Electronic Health Records and engage in regular communication with team members.
Participate in weekly supervision and monthly staff meetings.
Transport the youth as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma, high school equivalency, or a State Education Commencement Credential with a minimum of two years’ experience in children’s mental health, addiction and/or foster care; or a bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, Psychology, or in related Human Services field required.
Knowledge of mental health conditions required.
Demonstrate strong engagement, judgement and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required.
Must possess the ability to be creative and present ideas and skills in a variety of ways.
Ability to work both independently as well as on a team is required.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records required.
Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License and own a reliable car that is properly insured, registered, and maintained to drive from worksite to worksite.
Physical requirements
This position requires sitting for long periods of time and travelling to different client homes, community settings and other FSL offices.
