The surgical technician assists surgeons and nurses by preparing the operating room and maintaining a sterile field throughout procedures. They are responsible for managing surgical instruments, supplies, and ensuring all items are accounted for during and after surgery.
Candidates must have at least one year of surgical experience or have completed a formal surgical technician program. A surgical technologist certification is preferred but not required.

West Georgia Eye Care Center, an affiliate of Eye Health America, is a growing, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. We are always seeking great people who aren't just searching for a job but looking to make a difference.
This individual is responsible for assisting the surgeon and nurse in rendering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the center in accordance with established procedures. Overtime may be required.
Assists in preparing the operating room for the planned procedure. Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies. Sets up sterile operating field with instruments and supplies necessary for that procedure; arranges instruments, sutures, drapes, and supplies per AORN standards. Observes strict aseptic technique throughout the entire procedure and report break-in technique to the circulating nurse and the surgeon. Passes instruments, supplies, and sutures to the surgeon and assistants as needed and in such a manner so that their attention is not diverted from the operative field. Sees that all instruments, needles, sponges, and other supplies are removed from the operative field.
