The Activities Specialist assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, and emotional programs for residents. They are responsible for conducting activity sessions, managing equipment, and ensuring the activity calendar is distributed and followed according to care plans.
Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment and an aptitude for arts and crafts. A high school diploma or equivalent is desirable, along with a commitment to person-centered care.

Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of recreational social, intellectual emotional and spiritual programs in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan. Essential
Respects and upholds all residents' personal and property rights whenever carrying out duties, including knocking before entering a resident's room. Complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures. Assists and/or conducts assigned group or one-to-one activity programs according to calendar. Moves and arranges equipment/supplies to assure that activity areas are ready for scheduled activity. Assists residents move to and from activity programs as needed. Is responsible for returning all activity department materials to their proper place in a timely manner and maintaining a tidy, pleasant atmosphere in activity room. Assists Activity Director in developing schedule for activities, distributes monthly activity calendars to residents and posts changes to calendar according to state and federal regulations. Follows resident care plan in providing daily activities for residents.
