BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Histotechnician I at Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC) - Surgical Pathology Dept Sign-On Bonus (for eligible applicants)

Position Details

Day Shift Hours: (Mon-Fri) with a Set Start Time of always 5:00am Flexible schedule! 4 or 5 days per week at 10 or 8-hour shifts starting at 5:00am Possible Weekend Rotation No Holidays!!! Experience: Non-Reg with at least 2-3 years of Histo (embedding/microtomy) experience will be considered Embedding, microtomy and IHC experience (preferred) Histology Technician, Histologist, HISTOTECHNICIAN, Histotechnician, Histo Technician, Histology Technician, histotechnician, Histotehnologist, Histotech, Histotechnologist, certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), histotechnology

The Clinical Laboratory at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is committed to improving the health and wellness of patients through our expertise in laboratory medicine and strong customer service.

The laboratory performs over 1 million tests annually with a focus on providing accurate and timely results and services to patients and the community we serve.

The laboratory is fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose Responsible for providing a variety of basic routine tests and procedures on tissue and related surgical specimens submitted for histological examination.

Responsibilities

Tasks limited to microtomy, embedding, staining. Performs and documents quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary. Understands maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas. Has minimal understanding of test principles. Minimum Requirements Education High School Diploma or GED Experience <2 years Preferred Requirements Education Associate's Degree Experience 2-5 years
