The technician is responsible for receiving, organizing, and processing laboratory specimens while performing requested tests and quality control. They must also maintain laboratory instruments and ensure accurate patient identification to support optimal clinical outcomes.
Candidates must hold an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent military training and certification. National certification is required within six months of the hire date.
Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined laboratory procedures assuring optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
