The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures and assists the medical staff in the operating room. They are responsible for preparing equipment, monitoring patient physiological conditions, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
Delivers professional and technical nursing care to pediatric (>2 years), adolescent, adult and geriatric patients undergoing surgical procedures in collaboration with care directed by the medical staff. Nursing care delivered complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation when delivering surgical nursing care. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with unit standards. Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient. Prepares equipment and assists physician during surgical procedures. Takes emergency call as assigned by the department head. Works assigned shifts but may be asked to work beyond the regular tour of duty as assigned by the department head or nursing supervisor.
Candidates must hold a current Florida RN license and a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. One year of perioperative experience is preferred, along with strong physical assessment and critical thinking skills.
