The Mammography Technologist performs screening and diagnostic mammography procedures while ensuring patient safety and radiation protection. They are responsible for positioning patients, operating imaging equipment, and verifying technical image quality for radiologist assessment.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma and have graduated from an accredited 2-year Radiologic Technology program. Required certifications include a Florida State License (CRT), ARRT registry, Mammography (M) registry, and Basic Life Support (BLS).
Under the direction of a Radiologist, Facility Manager performs mammography procedures according to protocols established according to the ACR and FDA, at a technical level requiring supervision of technical detail. Performs screening and diagnostic procedures using either 2D or 3D technical radiographic procedures that will require judgement and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.
