About the role

The Expanded Function Dental Assistant will perform restorative procedures such as placing amalgam and composite restorations and fabricating temporary crowns. They will also support the dental team by preparing treatment rooms, managing patient records, and providing diagnostic support through imaging.

Be part of a legacy of care.

At Hudec Dental, dentistry is more than clinical work — it’s about creating genuine connections and delivering care that makes patients feel like family. Since 1977, we’ve been 100% family owned and 100% family operated. For more than 40 years, Hudec Dental has remained a family practice in every sense — family-owned, family-driven, and focused on treating patients like our own family.

Founded by Dr. John Hudec, who once served as a patient coordinator, dental assistant, hygienist, and doctor, our practice was built on humility, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to people. That legacy lives on today in every smile we help create.

We’re looking for an Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) who shares those same values — someone with strong clinical skills, a caring personality, and the ability to deliver excellent restorative care while always putting patients first.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Complete approved EFDA procedures validated through the Ohio Dental Board, including placement of amalgam, composite restorations, stainless steel crowns, and space maintainers
  • Support seamless patient care by preparing treatment rooms, materials, and patient records
  • Collaborate with doctors and the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and an outstanding patient experience
  • Provide diagnostic support through radiographs, intraoral imaging, and model preparation
  • Maintain patient comfort and function by fabricating temporary restorations
  • Contribute to a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and respect

What We Offer

  • Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience
  • Flexibility: Monday–Friday schedules, no nights or weekends
  • Growth: Dedicated professional development, CE support, and opportunities to advance within our practice
  • Support: Experienced staff and a leadership team invested in your success
  • Innovation: Modern facilities and technology to empower your work
  • Balance: A supportive culture that values both patient care and team well-being
  • Your Qualifications
  • Active EFDA certification in the State of Ohio
  • Strong restorative skills with attention to detail and efficiency
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for delivering patient-first, compassionate care
  • Comprehensive Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays
  • Annual CE and professional fee allowance
  • Dedicated professional development support

✨ Why Hudec Dental? When you join us, you’re not just stepping into a dental practice — you’re becoming part of a 40+ year family legacy built on care, compassion, and community. We empower our EFDAs to use their skills to the fullest while providing the tools, mentorship, and support they need to thrive.
