The psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized treatment plans for adult patients. They will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and offer psychiatric consultations within the Wellstar system.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and have completed an accredited residency in Psychiatry. A current, unrestricted medical license in Georgia and board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry are required.
Position Overview: Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a skilled and compassionate Outpatient Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at the Windy Hill location. This is a full-time position where you will provide high-quality psychiatric care to a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment for adult patients with a wide range of mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and more. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, psychotherapy, or other therapeutic interventions. Medication Management: Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring for efficacy and side effects, and adjusting treatment as needed.
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and primary care physicians, to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as Wellstar policies and procedures.
Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Completed residency in Psychiatry from an accredited program.
Prior experience in outpatient psychiatric care is preferred but not required.
Strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in using electronic medical records (Epic experience preferred).
