About the role

The role involves providing clinical support to physicians, including preparing patients for exams, performing procedures like phlebotomy and injections, and managing patient records. Additionally, the employee will handle phone triage, patient education, and maintain a clean, stocked clinical environment.

Hometown Pediatric - Jefferson City, Morristown and Sevierville Offices (FLOAT) a Division of Summit Medical Group has an immediate opening for an experienced RN, EMT, LPN, or CMA/RMA to join their practice. This is a full-time opportunity.

Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares patients for examinations and procedures according to physician preferences.

Uses good skills in recording vital signs of patients, including pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, etc.

Uses good clinical skills in performing appropriate procedures, such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitors, etc.

Uses good clinical skills in assisting the physician(s) with procedures, as well as administering medications and conducting patient educations.

Handles phone nursing when appropriate, to include triaging, pre-certs, referrals, calling in prescriptions, etc.

Performs clerical duties necessary for the physicians to see patients; contacts patients regarding test results or for other related reasons as directed.

Pulls and prepares patient records for physicians to treat patients, as needed.

If needed, schedules patient appointments with efficient use of clinical time slots.

Maintains stocked, neat, and clean exam rooms and common work areas on a daily basis.

Adheres to established company policies and procedures (including the corporate compliance program), and follows state and federal regulations, such as OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.

Adheres to site-specific protocols and expectations.

Performs duties in a professional manner while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative manner to co-workers, management, and public.

Maintains strictest confidentiality, both internally (with Summit employees) and externally (with non-Summit persons).

Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.

Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor, Site Manager, physician, or Administrative staff.

Education

Graduation from an accredited program in practical nursing, registered nurse, medical assisting or EMT.

**Current TN RN license, Practical Nursing License, Nationally Certified in Medical Assisting Required or Certified EMT.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Tennessee license as an RN, LPN, or be a nationally certified Medical Assistant or EMT. Graduation from an accredited program in nursing, medical assisting, or EMT is required.
