The technologist performs and interprets hemodynamic and ECG waveforms while assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. They are also responsible for operating sophisticated radiologic equipment and maintaining inventory in the operating room.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and a two-year AMA-approved radiologic technology program degree. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Operating Room or Cath Lab is required, along with ARRT certification.
Performs, records and interprets hemodynamic waveforms and Electrocardiographic tracings. Monitors and stocks inventory and assists with patient transfer; prepares maintains and operates sophisticated radiologic equipment including cineangiographic, fluorography, digital image recording, and laser and Electrophysiology equipment. Assists Physician in performing diagnostic and interventional, cardiac and peripheral catheterizations, as well as in the monitoring of quality control program.
