Behavioral Health Technician - PRN

About the Role

• The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges by providing direct care and assistance under the supervision of clinical staff.
• This position focuses on implementing treatment plans, conducting clinical assessments, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in various behavioral health settings.
• The technician is responsible for maintaining accurate clinical documentation and assisting with crisis intervention and management to stabilize patients during acute episodes.
• Additionally, the role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute discharge plans that promote continuity of care and recovery.
• Ultimately, the Behavioral Health Technician contributes to creating a therapeutic environment that supports patient progress and positive mental health outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant Certification (Required)
• Certification or training in behavioral health, crisis intervention, or related clinical areas.
• Experience working in Alcohol/Drug and/or Mental Health Experience
• Ability to maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and clinical staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a clinical or residential behavioral health setting.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support to individuals with mental health and emotional disorders.
• Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and discharge plans.
• Respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations, utilizing crisis intervention techniques to ensure patient and staff safety.
