The Ophthalmic Assistant performs diagnostic eye tests, documents patient medical records, and assists physicians with clinical procedures. They are also responsible for administering topical medications and providing clear post-operative instructions to patients.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, with preference given to those with at least one year of ophthalmic scribe experience. Proficiency in EMR systems and strong interpersonal communication skills are required for this fast-paced clinical environment.
