The Relief Physical Therapist develops and implements patient-specific rehabilitation programs to maximize resident capabilities and prevent disabilities. They also provide clinical management, coordinate adaptive equipment needs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality service delivery.
Candidates must possess knowledge of assessment and treatment in general and neurodevelopmental physical therapy, along with effective resource management principles. Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are required to coordinate the physical therapy department.

Develops, implements, and supervises programs to help residents achieve maximum capabilities, and to prevent or minimize new or progressive disabilities. Plans are developed for 100% of identified residents. Provides clinical management of long term patients.
Evaluates, prescribes designs, fabricates, requisitions, and coordinates implementation and repair of adaptive equipment. Coordinates with vendors, purchasing, fiscal, living units, and other departments.
Provides direction and training to new staff, student interns, families, volunteers, and communities in physical management and PT-related services. Documents observations of plan implementation to assure service delivery and quality. Documents training and remediation sessions on required facility forms for R & T. Assists with additional activities as assigned.
All other duties assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.
Knowledge of assessment and treatment in general and neurodevelopmental physical therapy, standards of practice at ICF/MRs, and effective resource management principles. Skilled in verbal and written communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Ability to lead and coordinate work of the physical therapy department, and cross-functional departments as needed.
