The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will perform comprehensive patient assessments and collaborate with cardiologists to develop cardiovascular treatment plans. They are also responsible for conducting diagnostic tests, educating patients, and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing and possess an active, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. A minimum of 6 months of experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility is required.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations, medical histories, and diagnostic tests Collaborate with cardiologists to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with cardiovascular conditions Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatment plans as necessary Conduct cardiac stress tests, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and other diagnostic procedures Educate patients and their families about cardiovascular health, preventive measures, and the importance of medication adherence Provide counseling and emotional support to patients and their families Knowledge of CMS Regulations and NCQA HEDIS Guidelines Document accurate medical records to ensure compliance with OSHA and Government regulations and perform duties in accordance with site quality and safety systems Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team Analyze and organize the care of critically complex patients
Minimum 6 months of experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license DEA License CPR BCLS/BLS certified Must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing Completed a degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Preferred experience in cardiology: training provided Preferred experience in Documenting EMR (Sigma, Visual, PCC, etc.): training provided Must have great organizational and time management skills. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and stand / walk / work on your feet up to 6-8 hours per day
